When the WWE was first established as a wrestling federation, there were not a lot of women involved. It was not until Vince McMahon bought the company that things began to change, and during the early 1980s, women began coming down to the rings as valets, but then eventually became managers.
Later on, women began to be more than just eye candy for the men that loved wrestling, and began wrestling right alongside men too. A women’s championship belt was established, and today we have the WWE Divas division. These lovely ladies of professional wrestling even have their own TV show now that focuses on their lives in the WWE, which is a predominately male-dominated company.
WWE’s Total Divas show is quite popular, and the ladies who star on it are always making headlines for various reasons.
