As we already know the lackadaisical attitude of India towards terrorist organisations has only encouraged them. But do other countries also have a laid back attitude on these terror groups? Apparently not. China is one of those few countries who has taken a firm stance against its terrorists and has not only grabbed the terror groups by their horns but has made the lives of these terror groups a living nightmare.
Chinjiang is an area in China where a majority of Muslim population resides, and has troubled China with multiple terrorist attacks. This region is surrounded by Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,Afghanistan, Mongolia, Pakistan and India.
After the split of the Soviet Union, this region had staged violent protests. China not only shut these protests down, it also sorted to barbaric means. This had further angered the Muslim population and had committed many terrorist acts But China wasn’t going to let them go free. It has made sure that people here have economic and commercial restrictions, they have mandated opening of shops during Ramzan and has banned fasting during Ramzan.
But what China has done this time has compelled the Maulwis to dance on the streets. They have banned burkhas, long beards and religious education. They have compelled Mosques to sport the Chinese flag at the top. All this done in retaliation of the multiple terror attacks done all over China, including the Beijing attacks during Olympics.
This shows that China, along with Russia, France, Germany who have developed a Zero Tolerance Policy over terrorism.
Our question is – if these countries can put their foot down terrorism, why cant we? And China has been engaged in barbaric acts against terrorists, but media does not report it. Why? If India takes a similar stance like China, maybe the terrorist activities would be curbed. We should take lessons from China in this regard.
