Is West Bengal Turning Into Taliban? Kolkata Imam Issues a Fatwa Because a man Spoke Against Mamta Banerjee

An Islamic fatwa has been issued against Dilip Ghosh for making ‘filthy’ comments against West Bengal CM, Mamta Bannerjee. This has been issued by Maulana Noor-ur Rahman Barkati, the Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Mosque on Monday.

The Maulana has said, “From where does he get such audacity to make filthy comments against our beloved chief minister who is the most secular leader of our country? I issued the fatwa which states that he should be pelted with stones and then kicked out of Bengal. He does not deserve to stay in Bengal.”
Trinamool Congress MP, Idris Ali, has also shown support to this fatwa by Maulana Barkati and has criticized Dilip Ghosh for his “filthy” comments and remarks.
The BJP officials in the state have said that this is India. This is not Pakistan or Bangladesh, where you think you can issue a fatwa and go scot free.
Mr. Dilip Ghosh, on the other hand, has replied to the Press Trust of India in the following manner:
“What does Barkati think, is this Bangladesh or Pakistan that he will issue fatwa against me? He can issue fatwa against TMC, they will listen to him, but not BJP. It seems that Barkati no longer wishes to stay in Bengal or India. I think he is planning to migrate to Pakistan or Bangladesh.”
The Trinamool Congress (TMC), on Sunday, had severely criticized Mr. Ghosh for using “abusive and gunda-like” language against the CM, Mamta Bannerjee. In addition to this, they have also declared a three day protest to oppose the demonitisation policy of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes by the PM Modi.
