The hacker group Legion, which recently gained prominence after hacking accounts of Rahul Gandhi, Vijay Mallya, Ravish Kumar and Barkha Dutt, has stated that their next targets would be Lalit Modi and Sansad.nic.in. The spokesperson of the group in an interview with Factordaily.com (tech website), stated that, Sansad.nic.in provides email accounts to government officials, and only important employees can have an account on this website. “Next is a dump of sansad.nic.in emails
Which is – quite big. It includes a lot of _BIG FISH_”, said the spokesperson from the group.
The group was considered to be based out of India, but in the interview, the hacker claimed to not be having an Indian Passport. The hackers of Legion claim to be exposing confidential data, after hacking the account of Barkha Dutt, they uploaded a link to 1.2 GB of data from her account. On being questioned about why they haven’t hacked any account belonging to the current dispensation at the center, the hacker said “we will do it when the time is right”.
The hacker was asked if they had any political affiliations, keeping in mind there targets, to which the response was “people who thought so should gas themselves with a balloon filled with Zyklon B” (gas used by Nazis during Holocaust against Jews). The hackers claimed “access to over 40k+ servers in India” from which they can reveal confidential information. These servers are not limited to any particular organization, and include those belonging to media houses as well as big corporates. They have not released the data yet to avoid “chaos”.
