Finance Minister, Sh. Arun Jaitley has made a curt statement that Congress is extremely uncomfortable with the implementation of the demonitisation policy. The reason behind, he said, is obvious given their ‘scandalous history and record’.
He further said that the step will help improve India’s economic situation by making the country a cashless economy and with more digital payments, it will be easier to nab black money hoarders and people who evade taxes.
Also, the restrictions of usage of cash, along with the mandatory showing of PAN number will dramatically shoot down the instances of corruption.
While Rahul Gandhi has constantly been criticizing PM Modi’s move, Jaitely ji said that during the reign of Congress for a full 10 years, Congress did not take even a single step to curb corruption.
He recalled the endless corruption matters Congress was a part of – from 2G scam, coal scam, VVIP Chopper scam, CWG scam, etc. Jaitley ji said that every single one of these corruption was done during the UPA government. People still talk about how the exchequer lost so much money due to this government. So it is no surprise that they are upset with the demonitisation policy.
He also pointed out how the high denomination currency, increased from a mere 36 percent to 80 percent in the Indian economy, during the UPA government. He also said that demonitisation, the step taken by NDA government, is a step that will change the system completely.
He said that the aim of the policy is to make India go from a cash dominated economy to a cashless economy. Cash will still be there in the market, but in lesser number now.
RBI is working hard to get rid of the minor inconveniences people are facing in day to day life.
